Janet Westman said "Mr Evans was my favourite teacher. He was so young and handsome!, he encouraged me to draw, and would take us on cycle rides at the weekend. We went brass rubbing at local churches."

Roy Radband Whippet said "In charge of outward bound trips to Patterdale in the Lake District and the friendly sports games against other schools."

He went on to teach at Eynsham.
