Stan Hawkins and Mavis Horne were married in Bampton. They had two sons David and Michael and they lived on the Aston Road.

Ted Dixey and his family

Ted Dixey took a very active part in Bampton life. He was a Morris Dancer for several years as was his father. He learnt to bellring in 1943 when ringing was permitted again and rang to within a very few years of his death.

Granny Poole from Workhouse Yard, Weald

Workhouse yard in Weald was a row of 6 cottages, two faced the road and four went at right angles away from the road. The two which faced the road were demolished at least as early as 1968.
