Simon Faulkner-Barrett from Bampton was a runner in the London Marathon and completed the course in personal record time of 4 hours 28 minutes. Simon was raising money for the Mulberry Bush School in Standlake which supplies therapy and support for traumatised children.

There was a knock out Competition, and displays by the Fire Brigade and the Morris Dancers. The Competition was won by the Jubilee Team who apparently had to wade through the muddy stream.

6 pages magazine produced by group of young people covering news and events in the local Villages Alvescot, Bampton, Black Bourton, Clanfield, Radcot and Faringdon. Published by West Oxfordshire Arts Association Literary panel at Grange Cottage April 1979 costing 15 pence.
