Long before the days when everyone had a TV and many IT toys and gadgets, the WI Christmas Party was much enjoyed my many children. This group photo was taken 1956 at a Christmas party given by the WI.

This charming little cottage used to be called Pedlar's Patch and today is called Sweet Briar. The gate is next to Emmies on Bridge Street and the house is set back from the road, behind other cottages.

The pennant of the 3rd Squadron, 14th Signals Regiment, Bampton, flies over Lundy Island where the men from Bampton Signals camp have gone to operate an amateur radio station.

This pylon was the framework that once held a windmill on White Owl farm. The farm belonged to Bert and Ted Wilkins.

This obituary was in The Guardian newspaper January 13th 2009. Francis was born on January 31st 1919 and died on November 27th 2009. The article was written by Derek Schofield.

On February 17th 2016 work began to dismantle the old pipe organ in St Mary's. Douglas Clare, one of our two churchwardens in April 2019 wrote the following article for the May issue of Contact.

These two photographs are of the family of Os Williams and were taken some time in the 1890s. Os Williams was a fireman in Bampton.Os Williams is seated in the front row on the left in the large group photo. These pictures were lent by David Darby.
