Newspaper Cutting reporting on the Annual Fete held in the Old School Playing Field (Sandfords Field) Bampton in 1973.
There was a knock out Competition, and displays by the Fire Brigade and the Morris Dancers. The Competition was won by the Jubilee Team who apparently had to wade through the muddy stream.

Inside the cow were Betty Collett and Valerie Adams played the cow
Jack & Jill were played by Penny Daniels and Angela Collett.

The event started at the Town Hall with the crowning of Carnival Queen, 16 year old Pamela Quick. Her attendants were Christine Neagle and Carole Edwards and a young Mathew Green was crown bearer.
