West Ox Arts was looking for a new chairman after the death of Gerry Glaister who had been chairman for 3 years. The present exhibition of members' work to the end of the month includes African-style acrylics by artist Michelle Buh-Nielsen.

WOAA organised and held a Christmas Card competition in November 1975. There were over 150 entrants. Top picture, Mrs Angela Mulliner is looking at some of the cards with Anderley Moore and Heather Manly. The lower picture shows 11 year old Tim Manly holding the winner card, which he made. His prize was £5. The cards were all exhibited in the Gallery.
At the Christmas craft fair in December 1975, Rosalind Green is showing how spinning used to be done with a beautiful spinning wheel made by Crowdys Wood Products, then based in Clanfield. Her daughter Hannah is standing next to her. Christmas cards from the prize winning design, from the competition a week earlier were also on sale.

A tradition has been going for several years now with the Christmas Tree lights being switched on the last Friday in November. As part of the party feel of the evening, there are crafts for sale in the Village Hall as seen in this picture.
In August 2015 David Cameron, Prime Minister, expressed concern regarding Witney Community Hospital when he learnt the 30 bed Wenrisc ward was to close in September. It is hoped the ward will be refurbished and then re-opened in March 2016.
