Bampton has had a long history of playing cricket and Anna Pitt put on a wonderful, well researched exhibition on the subject in January/February 2019. This is a picture postcard of Bampton Football team in the 1906/7 season. The card has been sent to Miss K Phillips in Stanton Harcourt from Bampton on May 13th 1907.

Horace Holifield of Safe Ride in Ramsden was a wonderfully generous man. He created an outer building with a kitchen and invited many groups to have tea or lunch there and he had a very good electric organ inside and would entertain people

This ticket for a tea was found in a pile of bits and pieces when clearing out a garage. Teas were sold to raise funds for the Bampton Horticultural Society. The cost was 6 pence in old money - 6d - so pre decimalisation of February 1971.

1965. This pylon was the framework that once held a windmill on White Owl farm. The farm belonged to Bert and Ted Wilkins.

In 1999 there was a mass cycle ride organised to highlight the need for a cycle pathway from Bampton to The Trout Inn at Tadpole bridge on the Buckland Road. The bridge crosses the River Thames.

A carnival and fête, organised by the British Legion, held in the grounds of The Grange by kind invitation of Major and Mrs W.W.B. Scott. The event started at the Town Hall with the crowning of Carnival Queen, 16 year old Pamela Quick. Her attendants were Christine Neagle and Carole Edwards and a young Mathew Green was crown bearer.
