The wedding of George Frederick Lomas and Lillian Frances Ody at St Mary The Virgin, Bampton c1938. They lived in Belgrave Cottages, Church Street until the late 1990s when Fred, then a widower moved to a bungalow in Manor View. They are both buried in Bampton cemetery. The Bridesmaids are Rose on the left and Kitty on the right, sisters of the bride. Mr George Ody senior is standing between the bride and Kitty.
Nelson Ody, son of George and Fanny Ody of Church Street lived in Belgrave Cottages later lived in by Mr & Mrs Fred Lomas as just mentioned above. Mrs Lomas was Nelson's sister. Nelson served in the Pioneer Corps in WWII and died in 1948. He is buried in Bampton cemetery.
Jean Lomas, daughter of Fred and Lillian Lomas, in her guide uniform on 26th April 1959 in the garden at her home at Belgrave Cottages, Church Street, after taking part in the St George's Day Parade which included a service at St Mary's church.
