Win Jones aged 94 is a very remarkable lady. She works hard at keeping fit and that is probably what has helped her to get over being infected with covid-19

Long before the days when everyone had a TV and many IT toys and gadgets, the WI Christmas Party was much enjoyed my many children. This group photo was taken 1956 at a Christmas party given by the WI.

Alec Wixey is the dancer in Royal Marines uniform. He caught the train from Lympstone barracks in Devon to Swindon, got a lift to Bampton, danced all day in full uniform and went back to barracks in the evening. Francis & Roy Shergold on the left, Pete Allam far right. Sitting , on the right, is Mrs. Ellis with Gary Gerhardt and Mrs Snook with Wayne. When the Wenrisc ward was closed in 2015 there was great concern locally that it may be permanent despite being told it was for refurbishment. It was with relief that it was reopened a year later.

Stan Hawkins and Mavis Horne were married in Bampton. They had two sons David and Michael and they lived on the Aston Road.
